In Central London we have stand-alone imaging centres that are dedicated to private patients and their referring Consultants. We deliver excellent professional services across a range of modalities. We have over 700 contracts with NHS partners, including Strategic Health Authorities, Acute Trusts, Mental Health Trusts, Primary Care Trusts, General Practitioners and Private Providers. NHS PET/CT Diagnostic Imaging Service
InHealth was awarded by the Department of Health (DH), the NHS PET/CT Diagnostic Imaging Service contract for the delivery of PET/CT services at 15 locations across five Strategic Health Authorities (SHAs) in the south of England.
The service started on the 7th April 2008 and has been designed to meet the specific needs of eleven cancer care networks, and integrate fully with local clinical pathways and protocols. Patients will be seen as close to the local cancer unit as possible.
InHealth are using mobile units containing Siemens Biograph TruePoint 6-Slice PET/CT scanners. The staff are all highly skilled technicians and radiographers. The mobile units visit the following locations: Basildon, Bournemouth, Cambridge, Colchester, Leicester, Maidstone, Northampton, Norwich, Plymouth, Poole, Southampton and Taunton. The two static units at the London PET/CT Centre and Nottingham PET/CT Centre are being used for very urgent patients only.
We work closely with the UK PET/CT Advisory Board and local cancer networks to provide an effective and efficient service to patients. In addition, to ensure best practice in clinical governance, InHealth has established an Independent Advisory Board, which is chaired by Professor Sir Michael Peckham and includes experts from all the relevant clinical specialties.
